George Orwell's satire on revolutionary and post-revolutionary Russia was first published in 1954.  It can be approached by readers on many different levels of sophistication. 

Our resource pack provides a chapter by chapter summary of the story with commentaries, vocabulary notes and questions for each chapter.  Topics suitable for course work and homework and oral activities are suggested.  Easier activity pages are provided for every chapter in the novel.  There are pages dealing with the historical parallels and with the animal stereotypes.
