Z for Zachariah by Robert C. O'Brien deals with events following an imagined nuclear attack on America.  The novel is about survival.  The central character is a sixteen year old girl who lives in a valley which has escaped the consequences of the nuclear attack.  She is joined by John Loomis, a young scientist, who has managed to find his way into the valley.  Different attitudes to survival are explored through these two characters.

Summaries, vocabulary lists, commentaries and questions are provided for every chapter.

A wide-range of worksheets cover a variety of topics and are suitable for use with pupils of differing abilities.
